Clinical Neuropsychology

Our Clinical Neuropsychologists will work with you to help you manage any cognitive and behavioural difficulties as well as focus on  improving your emotional wellbeing. We work together with you and your family and support team. Firstly, to help increase the understanding of the effects of your brain injury on your cognitive, behavioural and emotional functioning. Secondly, to provide therapy and support to help you through any challenges that you may face.

We can assist with: 

• Comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses for rehabilitative purposes and to assist with diagnostic questions
• Compensatory strategy identification and rehearsal
• Recommendations regarding questions of cognitive capacity such as: return to driving or work, to make lifestyle, financial or medical decisions, making a will, or to appoint Powers of Attorney
• Reports to assist with VCAT applications for Administrative & Guardianship orders and Supportive Decision Makers
• Complex behaviour assessments, management and education with the use of positive behaviour support plans
• Neuropsychological therapy to assist with return to work, study, and leisure
• Therapy and support to address mood concerns that may accompany brain injury or illness.
• Family psychoeducation and counselling
• Funded Family Counselling with particular TAC or WorkSafe claims.
