Melissa extended her experience working across the trauma, neurosurgical and obesity units at The Alfred Hospital. She was the Senior Dietitian and one of the founding allied health team members of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation unit at Caulfield Hospital where she continues to work part-time. She is also an integral part of the PEG service at Caulfield Hospital and therefore has a strong skill-set in the management of feeding tubes.

Melissa believes food should be enjoyed and understands what works for one person may not be practical for the next: Advice needs to be person-centred and tailored to individual’s functional needs and goals. Melissa recognises the importance of involving carers, family, plan managers and support workers in order to achieve the best outcomes. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team is also essential as nutrition problems are often multi-faceted and impact on other therapies. A successful approach requires a realistic and practical outlook. With her unique skill set, exceptional food knowledge and approachable nature, Melissa aims to help clients work towards their goals in a non-judgemental supportive environment.
